(WWLP) – Older residents of Agawam are seeing upgrades to the Agawam Senior Center. The local senior center in Agawam is looking better than ever.
State Senator John Velis helped the facility earmark $50,000. Those funds have been used to upgrade the coffee shop, revamp the pool table, and the community rooms. Seniors can also enjoy a game of darts or give yoga a try.
A new patio also allows them to take a break outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. “The senior centers play such a vital role in our communities,” stated Velis. “They’re a place of bringing people together, meaningful connections, and I just think that’s important right now.”
Senator Velis, along with the mayor and several others, got the chance to tour the upgrades at the senior center. Those there say that the space is welcoming and filled with great people.
