A 100-year-old West Springfield fountain gets a makeover

(MassLive- Aprell Munford) — The town (West Springfield) is restoring a century-old fountain on the town common as part of the town’s plans to celebrate the 250th anniversary of its incorporation in 2024.

Carly Camossi, chief of operations for the town, said the fountain restoration project will cost about $15,000 and was funded through the Community Preservation Act Committee and an earmark from state Sen. John C. Velis.

“We are doing this project completely in-house, which will save us a lot of money on the labor, and we are paying for the materials to do the restoration with all grant funding,” Camossi said.
