BOND AUTHORIZATIONS

Bond authorizations are a little bit different from other funding I work on for the district. While I have secured the below authorizations for projects in our district, the Governor still has to select these projects in their annual Capital investment Plans in order for the funds to be disbursed.

All general bond authorizations are for 5 years. So the Governor may select the project in any of the next 5 years to be included in either their General Capital Investment Plan or their Transportation Capital Investment Plan. The Governor releases these plans annually and they provide a 5 year outlook.

Bond authorizations can be thought of as initial approval. While I was able to secure the authorization on the Legislature’s side, it is still up to the Governor to select the project among the others they consider.
